There are few figures in the UTSA community who have been around the program for as long as marching band director Ron Ellis. The architect of the Spirit of San Antonio, “E”‘s fingerprints are all over not just UTSA’s game day experience in athletics, but also the entire student-life culture across the university. We sat down with E to learn about his journey to UTSA, building a marching band from scratch, and life inside of SOSA.
