They said it couldn’t be done, but we proved them wrong! [sicko laughter] Enjoy an hour and 15 minutes of UTSA men’s basketball season preview content. Japhet Medor has emerged as a likely team leader at point guard as the Roadrunners seek to move away from a dribble-dominated offense to a more pass-happy half-court set.
We break down our projected started five, as well as some likely contributors off of the bench, and some new names to learn heading into the season.
UTSA will tip-off their season today with an exhibition against Schreiner, with regulation play to begin with a home match against Trinity in the Convocation Center next week. The Roadrunners will enjoy playing seven of their first eight games at home in a bit of unconventional scheduling work from Athletic Director Lisa Campos.
Can the Roadrunners improve on their miserable #312 KenPom rating from last year? We hope so, but we’ll settle for no losses against non-DI opponents this season.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to talk much women’s hoops in this episode, but thankfully we already did a LENGTH preview of Karen Aston’s squad in this previous Patreon episode. Well worth a sub if you’re looking to learn more about the rapidly-improving women’s team.
