The Roadrunners stumbled through one of the ugliest 28 point wins you’ll ever see as Texas Southern of the SWAC took UTSA to four quarters. UTSA definitely wanted to rest their starters after a grueling three game stretch to start the season, but the Tigers wouldn’t let it happen. We wade through what went wrong for UTSA (scheme, physicality, tackling), as well as the shining positives (broken school records, young standouts, the emergence of a return specialist).
While UTSA exits the out-of-conference slate with a respectable .500 record, they won’t have much time to recover from injury before flying out to Murfreesboro for a Friday night kickoff on national TV. The Blue Raiders are coming off one of their strongest performances in several years as they knocked off a ranked Miami team last weekend. UTSA will have to bring their A game if they’re to start conference play out with a road win.
Be sure to check back later this week as we’re joined by Sam Doughton to get an in-depth breakdown of Middle Tennessee’s season thus far.
