Episode 164: Welcome to the greatest week in UTSA athletics history

News of UTSA potential joining the AAC broke just as we started recording this, so we opted to wait until later in the week to discuss the realignment movement on Patreon while we waited for more information. That didn’t stop this from being one of our most jam-packed episodes, as we recorded together in person for the first time in about two years.

1:20 – The Roadrunners’ defense put together the single most impressive single-game performance from a UTSA defense in school history.

14:08 – While the defense may have stole the show, UTSA’s offense certainly didn’t take the day off against Rice as the run game exploded.

27:18 – San Antonio shows up to support UTSA in a big way with a rocking crowd of over 27k, but the Dome struggled a bit with such a large crowd.

37:29 – It still feels surreal to say it… but UTSA has earned their first ranking in football, coming in at #24 in the AP poll and #25 in the Coaches Poll.

46:23 – Jared got to witness an amazing overtime victory for UTSA soccer as they secured a bid to the C-USA playoff tournament for the first time in program history!

53:48 – UTSA signs men’s golf coach John Knauer to a contract extension after the Roadrunners finish in the top 35 over the past two seasons.
