Will UTSA students approve an increased athletics fee?

This month the UTSA student body will vote on a referendum to potentially increase the mandatory athletics fee each student pays. The payoff would be game-changing for UTSA athletics, but is there enough buy-in from the student body to get this vote passed? Based off the last vote in 2018, it’s an uphill battle for sure. We enter into a spirited discussion about the athletics fee and the upcoming vote, the marketing campaign for the referendum, and the economics surrounding the fee.
